1st Christmas

Our first Christmas as a family of three! In a lot of ways it was Tony and I's first Christmas too! It was the first year that Tony and I were both off of work since we have been married. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day with the Hay family in Abilene... we even had a White Christmas (eve). The candlelight service was cancelled at church due to weather, so we just enjoyed some time together at the house. It was so fun seeing our niece Callie really get into things this year! We had a blast! Tony, Logan, and I spent Christmas morning together which was really special. We then headed to Cove for Christmas with my family (the Camerons, Turners, and Williams). Logan's first road trip! (which went suprisingly well) That can be summed up with "fun on the farm". Logan and my nephew Cameron got a miniature pony from my parents for Christmas... yes, a real one. Everyone had fun riding horses, watching Cameron play on his new tractor, and snuggling with Logan. Tony ended up getting strep throat so Logan and I stayed a few extra days with my parents and rang in the New Year. We also got to spend some extra time with Jamie and Cameron! Overall, we just had a very blessed time. We are very thankful for our families and feel very fortunate to be able to spend the holidays with them. We just wish everyone lived closer and we could do this more often. 2009 was full of MANY blessings for us. We look forward to what God has planned for our family in 2010!

Happy New Year! (My Mom, Dad, and I toasted at 9:00!)

One Month!

This first month has flown by!!! I can't believe he is already a month old. Christmas Eve was his one month birthday :) We have had so much fun! I am still enjoying being home with him and wouldn't trade this time for anything. So far, he smiles, coos, loves his bouncer and gym, checks out lights and ceiling fans, snuggles, and even rolls over (from his tummy to his back). He sleeps pretty well at night and is getting better at naps during the day. Our friend Joseph took pictures of him and our family and will post those as soon as we get them. We have enjoyed spending time with family over the holidays and had many visits from friends to meet out little guy. Maverick is adjusting well, but sometimes just stares and him trying to figure things out. His Aunt Lacy has been documenting our niece growing up with monthly pictures, and for Christmas she made me signs to take Logan's picture with. I am very thankful for her artisitc abilities and great ideas. So here it goes...

Aunt Kylee (I uploaded this one by accident and couldn't delete it... that is why it is randomly with his one month pictures, but we love Aunt Kylee, so it works!)
Taking a pacifier break :) Pretty content...

I love the hat... Tony does not!

Sweet boy...

It only took me two weeks to post this even though I tried several times. I am still adjusting to getting things done with a boy who is always hungry. :) Thankfully I got it up before he was two months old!

Sweet Baby Logan

Logan Anthony Hay was born November 24, 2009 at 6:44pm. He weighed 7lb 14oz and was 20 3/4" long. A big boy! He is absolutely perfect.

It was so nice to have my friends Cari, Robin, and Kristi take care of him and me. My doctor, Dr. Kroeger, delivered him, and Dr. Wiley our pediatrician stayed to be there for the delivery, too. It was definitely different being the patient! But so comforting that my friends were there. My parents, Tony's parents, my sister Jamie, my grandparents, and Tony's brother Jeff, and some of our friends, were all there to see Tony carry him into the nursery.

Craig and Lacy, Chris and Kylee, and several other friends all got to see him the next day. We got to come home the following day, Thanksgiving! We definitely had a lot to be thankful for this year!

We've spent the last few weeks watching him grow so fast! He really needs to slow down some. He smiles all the time, and sometimes it's when I am trying to get him to, so I count that as real smiles. :) We have been blessed by having so many friends and family come by to visit him. Many that have brought food, which is fabulous! We just got his pictures taken and will post those as soon as we get them. He has visited both my work and Tony's work, and we even took him to our Sunday School Christmas party. He doesn't get out much since it is at the peak of RSV season, not to mention the crazy flu, and his mom has seen way too many sick babies from that. It really is scary and soooooo easy to catch! So don't be offended if I make you wash your hands a million times or won't let you near him if you have a cold!

We are looking forward to Christmas and seeing all of our families! Some of them will be getting to meet Logan for the first time! I promise to keep this updated at least monthly now. Maybe I can convinve my sweet sister in law to make me cute signs for Logan's monthly pictures :) .

Falling behind...

So, I guess I am falling behind. It's been a busy summer, so here is an update:

In June some of our very best friends Caleb and Marissa got married. Tony was the best man and I was a bridesmaid. We had a blast! Do you ever go to one of those weddings that makes you want to get married all over again? This was definitely one of those!! It was BEAUTIFUL!!! I kept thinking... "I wish I would have thought of that" .... everything was perfect! And the best part is that they moved in down the street from us! We are loving having them so close. Maverick is also very excited about this, because their sweet little dog Lucy happens to be his girlfriend! Here are a few pictures from the wedding...

Then we got to spend some fun time with our neice Callie... including a trip to Nacogdoches for her baby dedication.

I went to Cove and visited my parents (who were keeping Cameron!) and then did some shopping with my mom and sister for fabric for the nursery...

Then, we had an awesome trip to Arlington to the Twins/Ranger game with the Hay family (minus Craig):

And then, vacation! My friends Emily and Stephanie and I went to San Antonio for a few days! Lori was there for a teaching conference, and Alli lives there, so they met up with us randomly while we were there as well. It was very relaxing and fun!! And I convinced Emily to read Twilight!

Speaking of Twilight, I really should mention something about it here since it has taken up a majority of my summer. Thanks to Lacy, my sister in law, and my friend Robin from work, I am hooked! I think the last book I actually remember reading for fun was something from the babysitters club! I know this is sad, but it's so true! So, I finally gave in.... and it has taken over my summer! I read the whole series in about two weeks! I decided after I was finished I would give Harry Potter a try (because I love the movies), but after reading the first book, I missed Edward too much and started reading Twilight again. I am taking it slower this time and am only half way through New Moon. New Moon, the movie, comes out November 20th. My due date, November 24th. Which means, Baby Hay better wait!! or come early enough that I won't mind leaving him for a few hours when the time comes.

Well, if you are still reading this, I am impressed. I will try my hardest to do this more often, so it is not sooooooo long! Here is my most recent pregnant picture! I need to take another one though, this was about three weeks ago. I am now 26 weeks!!! Baby Hay will be here before we know it!

Oh, BOY!!!

That's right! We're having a BOY! I was determined to find out before our actual appointment (which we still don't even have a date for yet), and thanks to some of my friends in L&D and my friend Callie from ultrasound we were able to do just that! We are very, very excited! It's so nice to be calling him a him now and to browse for baby things and know what to actually be looking for. So fun!! I just can't believe I am already through the first trimester. It has gone by really fast! I am feeling great, but still really exhausted, especially after I work. Tony has been working a lot. He is still working his regular shifts at the fire department and on top of that he is cleaning pools, going to Brownwood and working on the lake lot, and this week he has been taking a class for the FD every day. I don't know how he is still functioning. We are also getting ready for our friends Caleb and Marissa's wedding this weekend. Tony is the best man and I am a bridesmaid (please dress, still fit!). We can't wait!! An added bonus to that is that they just moved in to a house down the street from us. We already hang out with them almost every other night, and now they will be so close! Well, I should probably do some laundry... ugh. Oh yeah, and we don't have a name for Baby Boy Hay yet. Suggestions welcome... I am calling him Dirk in the meantime :) just don't tell Tony that!
